Hey Chris…
Thanks bunches…really excited about trying to use this. I have loved the previous version.
Skip
Thanks for giving it a try, Skip. Hopefully you’ll enjoy this one even more than the previous version.
Thanks Chris! Used earlier installer often.
Doug
Thanks for downloading it Doug. It should be better than ever!
Thanks so much Chris — I like how you’ve imbedded links to both your blog and to your new PainterLab.com. Cool programming! I also like the new look of this installer. I have used your installer with ease and with gratitude since you first designed it.. Thank you once more…
Barb
You are very welcome, Barb. Glad you’re enjoying some of the new features. With the automated update built in now, I should be able to add even more new stuff and get the changes out to you all very quickly!
Thank you Chris! I’m new at this, just got Painter X and am having a blast with it. Your program looks handy.
Thanks for giving it a try, Tess. Painter is tons of fun to work with and very flexible – hope you enjoy it!
Oh…you’re program’s amazing..
I have a question though.
Will Adobe Photoshop Brushes work on Corel Painter? I’m new at these kinds of softwares..so a little help would be very wonderful. Thanks!!
Hi JC – Thanks for stopping by and for the compliment. Unfortunately, Photoshop brushes will not work with Painter. Painter and Photoshop (unlike some Photoshop filters, which will work in Painter). The brush engines are just not compatible.
Thanks! I’m very new to Painter X, but am sure this will be very helpful for me.
Welcome to Painter, Tana!
Thanks Chris, I loved the first brush installer, can’t wait to try your new version.
Hope you enjoy it, Patricia. Stop back by and let me know.
Thanks for the update Chris. I enjoy using the installer.
So glad to hear, Audrey.
Hi Chris,
Awesome tool for installing brushes, but will there be a version for Painter 11?
cheers
Maureen
Hi Maureen – The latest version is completely compatible with Painter 11.
I have installed the new painter 11 version (upgrade)
I want to transfer the brushes from X to 11.
I have installed your brush manager, but still have problems
transferring all of the brushes.
I’ve tried dragging the folder of brushes over and
nothing is showing up.
can you be of help please?
thank you
Hi Renee– This is not currently a feature of the Brush Manager. It is for installing new brushes directly from ZIP files you’ve downloaded.
Since I have no Internet connection to the machine on which I use Painter X, I have to download updates, etc. to a computer that does and then transfer to the former via a flash drive.
I have downloaded Adobe AIR 1.5, but the Brush Manager AIR file only downloads as an icon, and, of course, does so in about minus a tenth of a second. I have tried the download on a second Internet-connected computer—three times—but with a similar result each time.
I would greatly appreciate your help with my problem.
Hi Tricia– The Brush Manager installer itself is very small (413 kb), so it shouldn’t take long to download at all. If you haven’t installed Adobe AIR already on the non-internet connected computer, it will not recognize the Brush Manager AIR file as an AIR file. It will see it as either a file it doesn’t know how to open or a ZIP file. After AIR is installed, the Brush Manager should install with no problems.
Excellent! I’m from Brazil and it’s not easy find this kind of help
OH,WOW!
This is seriously impressive. Beautiful interface, perfect workings!
Congrats,and thanks!
Loads and Loads of THANKS!
I can’t tell you how I struggled to get my old brushes loaded into a new operating system. Chris is my HERO! This program is awesome and Chris provides the kind of guidance and support hardly seen anymore. Not only supportive emails, but he actually called me personally to get me straightened out. How awesome is that? Thank you again Chris for your help, humor and direction. Without you, I would still be banging my head against the computer! Carolyn
I have downloaded your brush manager file and the air file and I cannot activate the brush manager. There is no button really install the file. What am I missing? how do I activate the file?
Hi Ken–
There is no button. Simply drag your zipped brush category into the white box and let the mouse button go. It’ll do the rest.
Thanks so much for the FREE brush installer. So easy, amazing!
Hi Chris,
Firstly, thank you for your great work here, it looks a fabulous piece of software, if I can get it to work correctly.
I installed the Brush Manager, then downloaded the Zen brushes to my desktop. Dragged it into the window and then a pop-up tells me the brush is already installed. Now, I know this is incorrect as I’ve only just downloaded it. I then had to procede to install the manually, as I have done before with brushes.
I have Win7 64bit and have done all the necessary settings to accommodate this. Still, it did not work. Yes, the lates Adobe Air is installed too.
I thought perhaps something may have gone wrong in the installation, so uninstalled/reinstalled. However, the same thing happens. Every brush I try, I’m told it’s already installed.
Can you please advise what maybe the problem?
Maureen
Hi Maureen–
It sounds like you’re trying to add the brushes to your Program Files (x86) directory. You can only do this if UAC is COMPLETELY off. Otherwise, put Brush Manager in User Mode and update your folder location. It should be C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Painter 11\[workspace]\Brushes\[brush library].
Without seeing your settings, that’s the only thing I can think of.
Chris
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH CHRIS!!!!!!!!
You rock! :D
Thanks, Chris! I can’t imagine why I never installed this before. Amazing!
Hi Chris,
Can you email me when you have a Brush Manager for Painter 12. I’d love to give it a try.
Thanks! :)
VERY close to having it ready for testing. It’s time to get it done and out there with you all. Will add you to the email list for it.
Looking forward to the new Brush Manager for 12. Thanks keep up good work!
