This spider is a combination of a couple of my own photos and quite a bit of compositing, blending and hand painting using Corel® Painter™ X. It was created to be part of the Q&A Art Lesson section of Corel Painter Official Magazine1, Issue 9. The reader submitted question was: “How does the Cloner work and what is it good for?”
My answer to the question included several different ways that the Cloner brushes in Painter could be used, including: combining images selectively, creating texture and photo-painting. A short tutorial outlining the major steps of creating Writing Spider and demonstrating all of the discussed techniques concluded the answer.
