As promised on Twitter! At the request of Karen Bonaker and Painter Magazine, I created this painting of my cat, Shadow. I think this is a good painting to kick off the 2008 painting year, what do you think? This was created in Corel Painter with a few textures applied from the Studio|chris Shop, most notably, the Ink Flow Texture for the awesome watercolor additions.

Just beautiful and the additional texture brings it out.
Love this Chris!
Thanks for stopping by Marilyn and Stacey! I totally agree about the texture, Marilyn. I find that adding a texture as a final step to painting adds a great feel to a painting.
Wonderful… The texture makes you feel like you can reach out and touch this kitty. And those eye, the intensity.. they are great. You really wonder what this kitty has his eye on and what going on in his mind.

Very nice painting!! I like the site you have going here to. In fact, I’ve seen some sites that you have designed for others and you do great work.
Kaye and Craig — so nice to see you visiting.
Kaye– This is one mischievous kitty. He has to be watched as attentively as he’s watching the invisible bird in the painting. His name isn’t Shadow only because he’s black; he’s a sneaky one too!
Craig — Thanks so much for the compliments on the painting and the other sites I’ve done. When I get the new design up here, I think I’ll finally be satisfied with it.
This is amazing Chris. You really take the cake with your wonderful variety of styles. This feels so real, and I love your use of “Shadows” .
